Wheel Throwing Session:

Make your own bowl!

New to pottery or want to get more experience? Come join us at NAPS for a one-off class where you will learn to throw your very own bowl on the potters wheel! You’ll be taught by a wonderful NAPS instructor on technique and guided through from start to finish.

Once your bowl dries in a few weeks, we will finish it with a color of your choice. Pieces ready for pick up in 3-4 weeks.

Want a unique and fun date night? Join us for one of our fun date nights! 

We offer two different types of date nights:

Date Night @ the Wheel

Join us with your loved one for a fun 1.5 hour class where you will learn how to throw together at the wheel. Our expert instructor will guide you on the basics of wheel throwing on the potters wheel and help you throw and shape your own bowl. 

At the end of class you will pick a color for us to glaze your piece with once it is ready. You will receive an email in a few weeks to collect your pieces which will serve as a sweet keepsake of your time together at NAPS! 

Mug Magic Date Nights

Come and join us for date night at NAPS and handbuild your own mug! 

During this 3 hour date night class, we will use handbuilding techniques to build a mug from clay. You will learn slab building techniques to construct your very own morning mug. 

Following class, we will fire your mug and glaze it in a color of your choosing, ready for pick up in 3-4 weeks as a memento of your date night together.

Special Workshop

Talk & Technique: Underglaze Coaster Painting with Sal Treviño

Sep 14, 2025 / 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Join NAPS Member and incredible ceramic artist Sal Treviño for a talk & technique workshop at Not Another Pottery Studio.

We will kick off this session with a fireside (kilnside?!) chat and Q&A foused on Sal’s career and experiene. This will be followed by a demonstration of Sal’s technique and approach to his stunning underglaze pieces. During, the second half of the workshop participants will put Sal’s underglaze painting technique into action by making their very own coasters. Sal will support and guide participants as they practice pinstriping and brush painting details on their own coaster set.

Various Dates / 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM.
 
Inspired by The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, Not Another Pottery Studio (NAPS) is offering an Artist’s Date for you to attend solo and create surrounded by like-minded people.

This session will involve free-form handbuilding, supported by a NAPS ceramics instructor. You will receive up to 5lbs of studio clay to make your creation(s). You can come with some preplanned ideas or inspiration, or simply come as you are and let the clay decide what’s next.

You can choose to make this a simply sensory experience in impermanence and we will recycle the clay afterwards; or, we can fire and glaze your piece with one of our nine studio glazes.

Fathers Day Bilingual Classes

Tazas para café espresso hechas a mano para celebrar la Dia del Padre

¡Ven a celebrar con nosotros! Trae a tu padre o abuelito para que haga su propia tazas para café espresso hechas a mano. Este taller de dos horas está abierto a todas las edades y contará con refrigerios ligeros. Esperamos celebrar contigo a los miembros de la familiar especiales en tu vida 🙂

Come celebrate with us! Bring your Dad or grandpa to the studio to make your own espresso cups for your morning coffee! These two-hour workshops are open to all ages and come with light refreshments. We can’t wait to celebrate the amazing family members in your life 🙂 

This class is primarily in Spanish; however, the instructor is fluent in both Spanish and English and can accomodate English speakers too!

¿Eres nuevo en la cerámica o quieres adquirir más experiencia?

¡Únase a nosotros en NAPS para una clase única en la que aprenderá a lanzar su propio taza en el torno de alfarero!

Un maravilloso instructor de NAPS le enseñará técnica y le guiará de principio a fin. Una vez que su taza se seque en unas semanas, lo terminaremos con el color que elija. Piezas listas para recoger en 3-4 semanas.

Handbuilding Classes

Join us for a fun class to explore the art of handbuilding with clay!

Each class focuses on a different set of techniques and has a different project that you will be guided through by our expert instructors. 

Once your piece is built, you will select a color and we will glaze your final piece in a few weeks for collection.

KIDS

& Clay!

Come join our kids workshop where we will explore clay and use our hands to build some very cool things together! 

Over the course of our class, you’ll learn about clay and get to make your very own creation.

Once it’s dry in a week or two, you can come back in to paint your creation during our drop in hours. It will then pop back into our oven for one more session and then you can come pick it up to take home! 

Family Fun

Join us for a fun intergenerational family session hand building with clay! Together, you and your kid(s) will tackle some fun projects together using your hands and various tools to create unique keepsakes together. 

Whether your a grandma, an uncle, a carer, or a parent, this session is designed for adults and children to come together and explore the medium of clay. Price is per person and if there are not enough spots, please email us so we can see if we can add a few on.

Once we’re done with the workshop, you will come back in a few weeks to collect your finished pieces.

TEeN THROWING

Classes

Ever wanted to try out the pottery wheel? Now is your chance in a small format class with other teens.

Together, we will explore the basics of wheel throwing so you can make your own bowl on the wheel. No experience is necessary! Our instructors are super friendly and helpful and will guide you through everything step-by-step!

Once we’re done, you’ll pick a color and you can come back in a few weeks to collect your piece 🙂 

Plate Workshop

In this focused wheel-throwing workshop, we’ll dive into the art and technique of making plates that feel good in both form and function. You’ll learn how to throw and trim plates effectively. From wedging preparation and bat systems to centering larger amounts of clay and mastering clean, consistent rims.

We’ll explore the anatomy of different types of plates, from shallow side plates to dinner and serving platters, discussing proportions, profiles, and how design choices affect usability and firing success.

You’ll also get hands-on guidance in troubleshooting common plate pitfalls, like cracking, warping, and slumping, so your pieces come off the wheel balanced, beautiful, and ready for glazing success.

Slip Casting

In this workshop, you’ll learn the foundations of slip casting technique! From preparing liquid clay (slip) to pouring, timing, and releasing pieces from molds.

Using a curated selection of vintage plaster molds, we’ll explore how to cast consistent, functional, and decorative forms. You’ll gain a clear understanding of mold anatomy, casting thickness, cleanup, and finishing methods, along with practical tips.

Perfect for beginners curious about new forming techniques, this class offers a fun and approachable way to bring historic tools and processes into your contemporary ceramic practice.

Moon Magic:

Aura Photography and Moon Inspired Ceramics

Join NAPS Founder Lauren & Aura Photographer Monika George (@CosmicHour) to celebrate Gemini seasons. During this session, participants will handbuild “twin” ceramic items to explore duality of light and shadow. Monika George will be conducting Aura Photography and providing Aura Photo Readings.
