Inspired by The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, Not Another Pottery Studio (NAPS) is offering an Artist’s Date for you to attend solo and create surrounded by like-minded people.
This session will involve free-form handbuilding, supported by a NAPS ceramics instructor. You will receive up to 5lbs of studio clay to make your creation(s). You can come with some preplanned ideas or inspiration, or simply come as you are and let the clay decide what’s next.
You can choose to make this a simply sensory experience in impermanence and we will recycle the clay afterwards; or, we can fire and glaze your piece with one of our nine studio glazes.
Mira Lanz is a born and raised Los Angeles local and has been a ceramicist for 7 years! While she was first taught as a hand builder, she has transitioned to many other forms of pottery like wheel throwing and slip casting. Her favorite things to make are planters & her slip casted Blackberry phones! She has worked at numerous studios as a lab technician/ instructor and aims to lend a supportive, positive helping hand with whoever comes into the studio!
Lauren is NAPS’ Founder! Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Lauren grew up around amazing artists and ceramicists but only fell in love with ceramics as an adult here in Los Angeles. Lauren was inspired to start NAPS to provide NELA with a kind, clean, and creative community space.
